WINDOW ART WALK

Wear Sunscreen. Acrylic on paper. 4 x 5 ft.

Wear Sunscreen portrays a surreal, humanoid figure that exudes a sense of stillness and introspection. Sitting poised yet contemplative, the figure seems to embody a moment of waiting, longing, and quiet reflection. Its gaze (or lack thereof) suggests a yearning for change or an unseen transformation on the horizon—perhaps metaphorically through the "window" of possibilities.

This piece was showcased as part of the Window Art Walk, a community-based project that bridges the private and public realms by displaying early-career artists' works in residents' public-facing windows. By existing in this liminal space, Wear Sunscreen invites viewers to connect to in-between spaces while challenging the conventional boundaries of where art belongs.

The figure’s stillness paired with its otherworldly presence resonates with the concept of waiting—not passively, but with a wishful anticipation for something beyond reach. The interplay between the private act of waiting and the public space of the artwork’s display evokes a deeper dialogue about individual yearning in the context of community and connection.
